The Ticker Is a Ritual Device
A cheap ticker feels like local-news furniture. A good ticker feels like a controlled leak from a machine that knows more than it should.
The top-five ticker exists for one reason: make the homepage feel alive without turning it into a landfill.
It should move, but not shriek. It should pause on hover. It should work on mobile. It should never feel like a novelty plugin from 2009.
Manual ranking matters. If something deserves the top slot, the system should obey.
